Senior Pastor: Dr. Jim Dixon pastor@fbc-catalina.org
Dr. Dixon has been senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Catalina since
December 2002.
He is a graduate of Trinity College in Florida, University of Tennessee and
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He earned
a Doctorate of Ministry in 1968 from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Dr. Dixon is an accomplished author and has published his book
"Expository Thoughts on Genesis". The book is available at the Church.

Jim belonged to a mixed quartet for ten years performing throughout the Midwest.
A tour of South American mission fields was the highlight of his travels. Following
the dissolution of the quartet, Jim moved into a personal singing ministry involved in
retreats, revivals and social gatherings. Five and a half years ago Jim felt God's
call to lead the choir at FBCC. Each year he directs a Christmas and Easter
Cantata and under his encouragement smaller vocal groups have emerged.

Prior to joining the staff at First Baptist Church of Catalina, as our
Youth Minister, "Joe V" was on the Staff Evangelist at Saint John's
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Queens, NY,where he also
headed up the youth group 'Under His Wings' from January 1993
through May 2003. While there, he was also an Elder and the
acting Pastor for the last year and a half of his time at Saint John's.
Joe is presently holding a contemporary worship service on
Sunday evenings at 5:00pm aimed at youth 13 to 18 years of age.

Karen has been a member of First Baptist Church of Catalina since 1988.
She joined the staff in July 1999. She is a certified Ministry Assistant and her
duties include the daily routines of church business and assistance with the
various ministries and all committees when needed. Karen also directs the
Awana and Vacation Bible School programs.
