First Baptist Christian Pre-Kindergarten is now open. Amy Nelson is our director. The school is a Christian based education for
children three and four years of age who are already potty trained. The classes will run from 7:30 A.M. to 11:45 A.M. These
classes are $300.00 per month. There will also be after care from 11:45 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. The cost of aftercare will be $150.00 per
month.  We will not take drop-ins.

Children will learn age appropriate skills in preparation for beginning Kindergarten.

    Our Philosophy
First Baptist Christian Pre-Kindergarten endeavors to provide a safe and encouraging atmosphere that allows children to make
choices, learn to share and to explore their world.  It is designed not to replace the parent’s role in directing their child’s
development, but to enhance this learning time in their lives.

We endeavor to provide experiences which will contribute to the many facets of a child’s growth and development.  Through
acknowledgment of feelings, children are encouraged to handle social and spiritual responsibilities to others.

    Religious Education
We believe spiritual growth should occur naturally, along with other aspects of a child’s development.  Growth of faith will be
nurtured through developmentally appropriate early childhood teaching practices.  The following faith concepts will be taught
through weekly Chapel services, as well as through conversations, activities, modeling, prayers, songs, stories and other learning
    experiences:

    * God is creator of all people and things
    * God loves each one of us and is an ever-present source of support and care.
    * Jesus is God’s Son, a gift of God’s love and grace.
    * We are all members of God’s family, and as such, deserve one another’s compassion and respect.
    * We talk to God and Jesus through prayer.
    * We show reverence to God in the way we speak to others.

    Curriculum
According to research, young children learn best through play experiences, rather than highly structured academic activities.
Therefore, we provide a wide range of hands-on activities and encourage experimentation with many kind of arts and crafts,
science, math, language, music and rhythm activities.

During the course of a class period, the children will have opportunities to participate in free choice activities, small group
experiences and whole-group teacher-directed activities geared to developing listening skills, ability to follow directions, and
practice being part of a group.

Our curriculum teaches your child the skills needed to be successful in Kindergarten, such as letter and number recognition,
phonics, counting, and how to write their name.  We will be using the WEE curriculum, as a guide line.
